Roof deck...the beginning

So we've decided to build a roofdeck on our house. A two-tiered roof deck. We live in a 3 story townhouse that's just asking for one, with killer views of the city from the roof. We clamor up there a few times each summer, usually with cocktails in hand, to check out fireworks, or the Art Museum, or just to get some sun.

Here's where we are now....

This window looks out on to the 2nd floor roof and will eventually be a door....hopefully a door that will accommodate all of our tall family and friends....you can't really tell here but the window is right off of the landing causing some major head scratching.

Right now we're getting some bids from contractors. Assuming we find one we like we'll get to start the fun part, picking out materials, and the NOT fun part, dealing with Philly L&I.....
