Notakeout.com

A friend recently shared this great new (to me at least) site called Notakeout.com. Each day they post a new recipe made from seasonal ingredients.

Notakeout includes recipes from the awesome Alice Waters, the owner of Chez Panisse and the pioneer of "California Cuisine." One of my favorite books as a kid was Fanny at Chez Panisse about the cooking adventures of a little girl. The book has a bunch of easy, fun, kid-friendly recipes.

The best part about Notateout is their ingredients list - broken down in to Shopping List and Pantry Items. It's mobile friendly too! They also include Tools and Suggestions which usually notes a wine or two to try with the meal. The recipes are simple enough that you can use them for a busy Tuesday night but good enough to save for entertaining and impressing guests.

The last dish I used from Notakeout.com was A Big Summer Salad & Garlic Bread, lots of herbs, fresh veggies, and limited prep time (although there is a lot of chopping). I grilled up some lemon chicken to top off the salad and we had a bottle of Gruner Veltliner, a nice, crisp Australian white (I'll talk more about that in another post...)
